MATCH REPORT

ROYAL TUNBRIDGE WELLS V BROMLEY A 15TH AUGUST 2023

Today we travelled to the prestigious Royal Tunbridge Wells club to play our final league match of the season. The weather was sunny and warm with only a slight breeze.

In the first session Tony partnered Sue Stanley and Astrid partnered Michael. Bromley won both matches. The second session of four singles resulted in Bromley winning three and Tunbridge Wells winning one. At lunch therefore Bromley were 5-1 up and had clinched the match. The Tunbridge Wells team were very friendly hosts and provided an excellent lunch of chicken, together with a very tasty salad. This was followed by strawberries and cream and a roulade.

The afternoon session consisted of two singles matches and one doubles match. Tunbridge Wells won the doubles and one of the singles so the overall score was 6-3 to Bromley. I hope this result cheers Martin up.

Todays team was Tony, David, Michael, Astrid and Sue Stanley.

So we have had two wins and two narrow defeats this season. A very good result.
