MATCH REPORT

MERTON V BROMLEY 15TH JUNE

Today, under a cloudless sky, but under a major jet flight path, Bromley Croquet Club played a friendly GC match against nearby Merton Croquet Club. This has been a regular friendly match for many years.

We started at 10.30am and the schedule was to play three doubles matches using all four players on each team double-banking on Merton's excellent full-sized court.

All matches were extremely competitive with many hoops fought over in a croquet-furious manner, though the final scores don't exactly bear out the true story.

It was a whitewash - we came out victors by 6 games to zero, scoring 42 hoops to Merton's 23!!

All games were 'level play' as handicaps were very similar

Our hosts were a delightful bunch - long may this match continue.
