On Monday the Bromley A team played a home match against a team from Hampstead Heath. The weather forecast was for thundery showers but we were lucky and only had to run for cover once. The morning matches turned out to be very close affairs. In the first session of doubles we won both matches and in the second session of four singles honours were shared two matches each. So at lunch we were leading by four matches to two. Valerie Smith once again provided us with a lovely ploughmans lunch which everyone enjoyed. In the afternoon session the two singles were shared one match each which meant that we were leading 5-3 and could not be beaten. The last doubles match was won by Hampstead so the final result was 5-4 to Bromley. We then enjoyed a delicious lemon cake which Valerie had made together with some jam tarts. A very enjoyable day and at last we had a win under our belts. Hampstead fought hard and were enjoyable and friendly guests.

Our team was David, Tony, Michael, Astrid and our sub was Frances.
