MATCH REPORT

LEAGUE MATCH BROMLEY A V HAMPSTEAD 30TH JULY 2023

Yesterday we played our third of three matches in the AC 'S' league - a league for clubs with one lawn - games lasting three and a quarter hours, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

You may recall it rained yesterday - quite heavily in fact - but that did not deter intrepid AC players who all played on under somewhat difficult conditions.

All games went to full time. The two singles games were tied at full time, with play continuing till the next point was scored - honours shared with these two. Unfortunately we lost both the remaining doubles games, though they were closely fought.

Result was thus Bromley 1 - Hampstead 3

So far we have played three matches in this league - won one, drew one, lost one.

Very many thanks to Valerie who provided a super ploughmans' lunch, followed by strawberry tart and cream, and cleared away the dishes whilst we walked out into the rain. Also a superb cake was left for us at the close of play. Thank you once again.
